Jay Kim gave a talk on ‘the political and the economic issues of the complicated, standstill situation of Korea, U.S., Japan and China’ for the International Management Institute of the Federation of Korean Industries on June 18. He talked about the complicated, standstill situation of Sinking of the Cheonan and emphasized that a long term solution to solve this situation and prevent its recurrence is to become a member of the UN Security Council. He suggested that Korea should use its status as the current chair of G20 for this purpose and propose a reform bill together with the U.S. and Japan to replace the members of the council with G20 and to run the council by majority decisions without the veto power of the permanent members.
